TOUR OPERATOR - Birding, canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, rock climbing, abseiling, fishing. Cradled in the African Rift Valley, Lake Malawi is an immense inland sea of fresh, crystal-clear water in which tropical fish abound. Its shores and the islands which dot its surface are home to a variety of game and an abundance of exotic birdlife. Uninhabited and under the protection of the Malawi Parks Board, Mumbo Island and Domwe Island host Kayak Africa's two wilderness camps. Massive boulders laced with giant baobabs and gnarled rock figs interspersed with golden beaches and lush African bush create a tropical paradise. Fully equipped safari tents and reed-enclosed showers and toilets ensure one's comfort, while the thatch kitchen and open fire, staffed by a Malawian bush chef, are the source of wholesome three-course meals, drinks and snacks. All around, the lake waters with stunning underwater rock formations and schools of brilliant tropical fish invite a variety of activities such as snorkeling, swimming, fishing, and sundowner kayak excursions. These awesome locations and their seclusion from the mainland provide for an experience of tranquillity and beauty unrivaled in Africa.

We are also planning an expedition to Madagascar to the Mitsio Archipelago, a sea kyaking paradise, in October/November 1998.
